This Expert Meeting gave our members the opportunity to better understand the impact of post-quantum cryptography on our everyday digital lives in the years to come — from data security and trust in online communications to the resilience of our digital infrastructure.

On Wednesday, September 30, we had the pleasure of welcoming Samih Souissi, Chief of Staff of the Expertise Sub-Directorate (SDE) at the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI).

This meeting builds on the work carried out within our working group, “French and European Strategic Autonomy for Quantum Infrastructure”. It follows discussions with Olivier Ezratty on quantum technologies and European sovereignty, and with Adam Lewis, Head of the Quantum Technologies Sector at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), focusing on research, development, and technological autonomy in Europe. as part of our working group on quantum technologies and European sovereignty, and with Adam Lewis, Head of the Quantum Technologies Sector at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), focusing on research, development, and technological autonomy in Europe.

The discussions focused in particular on:

  • Understanding post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and its principles
  • The challenges and limitations of this technology for Europe
  • The measures organizations need to implement to anticipate this transition
  • The roadmap defined by ANSSI to support the transition to PQC in France
