Renaissance Numérique co-signs an opinion piece in L’Express on the Franco-British Partnership
en years after Brexit, France, and the United Kingdom have a particular responsibility in building shared responses to the continent’s major challenges. This is the message conveyed in an op-ed published in L’Express, titled “Ten Years After Brexit, Europe needs the Franco-British partnership: A call from Researchers”.
This op-ed follows on from the first Franco-British Strategic Dialogue, “Building Europe’s Future Together,” which brought together experts from both countries to discuss issues of security, technological competitiveness, and democracy. The signatories call for moving beyond the divisive mindset stemming from Brexit to strengthen cooperation between France, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
Renaissance Numérique participated in the discussion, focusing on European technological sovereignty and digital challenges. In the context of growing strategic dependencies, our contribution argues for the need to strengthen Europe’s capacity for action in the digital sphere, to gain better control over critical infrastructure, and to consolidate democratic resilience in the face of information manipulation.
