Our publications
- Reports from Renaissance Numérique provide insights into digital transformations and their impacts on our society. These documents draw both on the skills and knowledge of members brought together in a dedicated working group, and on the expertise of external specialists who are mobilized (usually through hearings or events). Each Renaissance Numérique report puts forward recommendations to promote the development of a more just, inclusive, democratic, and sustainable digital society.
- Policy briefs from Renaissance Numérique are often under twenty pages long. They usually reflect the think tank’s position on a current issue or on a topic at the heart of digital debates, a legislative proposal or bill, or a public consultation.
- Summaries are reports of events organized or attended by Renaissance Numérique.
- Interviews provide perspectives from key figures in the French and international digital ecosystem.
- Media contributions: the think tank helps amplify the voice of civil society in public debate by publishing articles or opinion pieces in general and specialized press, as well as through appearances in various media outlets.
- The monthly newsletter offers an overview of the think tank’s past and upcoming activities. Want to keep up with our work? Subscribe to our newsletter!
Our events
Renaissance Numérique regularly organizes high-level events and meetings, either open to the public or reserved for its members. The think tank’s public-interest positioning enables a rare quality and freedom of exchange with public and private decision-makers shaping and reflecting on the digital sphere in France and Europe.
- The “Rencontres OFF” offer Renaissance Numérique members the opportunity to engage in privileged, private dialogue with stakeholders involved in the design and implementation of digital public policy, focusing on current and highly strategic issues.
- Conferences, roundtables, seminars, symposia… Throughout the year, Renaissance Numérique organizes and takes part in events for a wide range of audiences (general public, academia, decision-makers, etc.).
- Until September 2024, Renaissance Numérique hosted the “Aux Sources du Numérique (ASDN)”, a series of regular meetings with authors of recent works on digital issues. These open-to-all encounters aimed to hear their analyses of the challenges raised by the digital transformation of society and to foster collective discussion. This event series was co-organized with the French Digital Council (CNNum) and essayist Hubert Guillaud.
“The Dialogues”
Our “Dialogues” are days of study and collective work uniting French, European and international experts to debate the societal, economic and technological issues surrounding a specific digital subject. This engaging, international, multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary approach enables a limited circle of participants (often around twenty) to take part in high-level exchanges.
AI Dialogues
In 2023 and 2024, Renaissance Numérique brought together experts from around the world for three ‘Dialogues’ centred on the international governance of artificial intelligence:
- AI Dialogue #1 – “Is international AI governance achievable ?”
- AI Dialogue #2 – “The Multiple Actors of International AI Governance”
- AI Dialogue #3 – “How to involve citizens & civil society in the global governance of AI?”
METAVERSE Dialogues
In 2022 and 2023, Renaissance Numérique gathered experts from around the world as part of three ‘Dialogues’ on the Metaverse:
- Metaverse Dialogue #1 – “Collective narratives, affordance and use cases”
- Metaverse Dialogue #2 – “Economics of the human body and avatars in the Metaverse”
- Metaverse Dialogue #3 – “Data, privacy, identity: potential legal challenges”
