Faced with the avalanche of AI resources, should we converge on a shared framework ?
Numérique en Commun[s]
Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th October 2025
On 29 and 30 October 2025, Renaissance Numérique was at Numérique en Commun[s]. This major event once again brought together nearly 1800 people to think, discuss, and share ideas, projects, and feedback to combine « digital technology » with the public interest.
For this edition, NEC proposed to examine the tension between the emancipation enabled by digital technology, provided certain conditions are met (freedom of expression, decentralised contribution methods, regulatory frameworks, development of our digital skills, etc.), and the increasingly widespread and relentless pursuit of innovation, the speed and complexity of transformations and the responses required, which are undermining our democracies.
This tension is at the heart of our report, « Developing AI literacy for an inclusive and empowering society », published just a few days ago. Jean-François Lucas, our Chief Executive Officer, presented the question that motivated this work (namely: how can AI be used as a factor for inclusion and empowerment rather than amplifying existing inequalities?) as well as some recommendations related to the theme of the round table entitled: « Faced with the avalanche of AI resources, should we converge on a shared framework ? ».
This discussion took place with Marie Bancal (Director of Partnerships and Development at Pix), Joséphine Corcoral, (Assistant Secretary-General, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Council) and Axel Jean (Head of the Office for Digital Innovation and Applied Research Support at the Digital Directorate for Education within the Ministry of National Education). It was moderated by Sophie de Quatrebarbes, an education and digital consultant.
